She for He..
The wonderful thing about the universe is its symmetry, which means equality. The science of the universe is very inspiring and very philosophical if you think about it. In Atomic Theory, every proton has an electron. They neutralize the atom and make it stable. They are different in many aspects but together they make an atom whole. This is how we should see men and women. They make up the world. They need to play an equal role in making this world a wonderful place.
One more thing that science teaches you is that you can’t always be sure what you believe is the absolute truth. The brightest minds once believed that the atom was the smallest entity but further research proved that atom hold the protons, neutrons and electrons and opened up new fields of research. If the brightest minds could be wrong, is it so hard to believe that a bigoted old man, who believed women are men’s slaves and their inferior, could be wrong. Equality Is what’s so beautiful about nature. We need to take example from science and realize that we should believe something only after we have proof that it’s right. When a force is applied, work is done irrespective of the source of the force. So when a man and a woman do the same work shouldn’t they expect the same pay? It’s really pathetic that I had to ask that question but that’s the real situation that is prevalent today. And this is not just underdeveloped nations, but the first world nation that I’m talking about.
Way back in ancient Greece when they had first introduced the concept that the earth was round, the whole world was enraged. They shamed and humiliated the men who propagated such notions. Any new scientific discovery did not receive the same welcome as it is offered today. Neither did the scientists receive any kind of respect. In fact many of them were thought to be witches and were burnt alive. Galileo himself was sentenced to death for introducing ideas that were too radical and ahead of his time. The major emotion that was inherent among those who prosecuted Galileo and other scientists was fear. Fear of losing power. Fear of accepting something new. Fear of changing how they functioned. The problem of women suppression and this narrow minded idea of masculinity and femininity, stem from such fears. If everyone is told what they should do, and the society as a whole accepts what it must do, then functioning becomes easier, or so they would have thought. Assigning gender roles is a method of categorizing people, which no one endorses. Expecting something of a girl just because she is one, is just as shallow as judging a book by its covers.
Feminism is a widely discussed issue. It’s something that we all believe in theoretically. But most fail to understand what the word encompasses. It requires a major change in the mindset of the citizens of the world. Barring the major social issues like unequal pay, there are some ideas which deep rooted into the minds of the people, that they even fail to realize its existence. But it exists as surely as the gravity of the earth. This needs to be removed.
Feminism is not just for women it is for men as well. It is for everyone to see the world and go through it as one. It is to break the shackles that society puts on us and be our own self. We must be at liberty to do what we want to do. The word manly or feminine should either lose its meaning or fuse to encompass a wider spectrum. “men “ and “women” should be mere biological terms and should not affect our lives or dreams. Only then can we do our little to maintain the universe’s magnificent equilibrium.
